Hertford meal with Chris, Maxine & the kids
Left home at 11am approx. using the M1, swung across east and arrived at Hertford C & C.C. aprés midi. We were given two pitches, very close to the chestnut tree which was planted in 1956 by Lady Baden-Powell. There is also a wooden seat underneath it. Chris, Maxine & the girls arrived later in the afternoon, and we helped to put the tent up. We went out for a meal - the first place had a wedding reception, so we had a quick drink, went to Hertford and ended up in a Pizza House, which was excellent, but gave me indigestion the next morning - having slept like a very tired piglet until 6am. The site is very large, nice and flat, and the facilities are like all the Club facilities these days.
