Sutton Windmill and museum
Decided to go to see Sutton Windmill, making our way along the coast road. There was a small café where we had a drink. We were going to see the cat pottery at North Walsham. We found it eventually, but it was closed. We made our way to the Sutton windmill, and spent a long time looking at the museum, exclaiming “Oh, we used to use that”, looking at the memorabilia of the 30s, & 40s, although some items were earlier. It was a very extensive museum. Bill won money on the old machines - he kept putting it in, and he lost it then won it all back. He looked at a “what the Butler saw”, which wasn’t very exciting! The windmill is reputed to be Britain’s tallest windmill. It took a lot of climbing up, so it could well be true! We had lunch in a nearby village, did a bit of shopping and came back to the site. It had rained on and off, and it was getting quite chilly on the site. We lit a fire after eating our meal.
