Good journey - first time towing with the 460 turbo Volvo, Bill was unsure of its towing abilities, but it was fine, and we had no swaying problems with vans or lorries. We went wrong once but apart from that it was straightforward - more or less literally - took 2 1/2 hours should have been less! We arrived at lunch-time and as the wardens weren’t in, we left the van and found a local hostelry and had lunch there - very pleasant it was too! The site is fairly wooded, and as the weather has turned warm, we’ve parked the van quite near to a silver birch wood. Perhaps it’s not such a good idea as the flies are - yes - flying around. We also seem to be near to the pig farm - but they don’t muck out all day do they??!! The aroma has gone at the moment, so I’ll guess the pigs have the place much to themselves, and are as happy as pigs in s–t! The birds are really singing away and there are many resting boxes on the trees. It’s very quiet here, but probably won’t be at the weekend - when we have to move the van for a couple of days because all the electric points are booked up. Our new chairs are very comfortable and all the materials used in them is recyclable! They are made in Italy. There is a pound on the site with big carp in - but no fishing is allowed! There’s a little bridge to walk over as well. We’re not really far from Skegness. Tattershall Castle is quite close. We’ve been adopted by the local farm cat who is in ‘kit’ and she followed me around, although I didn’t feed her. Then, as I started off to the loo, a duck arrived and 13 ducklings surrounded me! It’s very quiet here now, but more people are coming tomorrow, including a lot of touring cyclists on Saturday who will pitch their tents a few yards from us. And so t.b.
