Woke up late - 8.15! Had a good shower, and having bought a new shower cap didn’t get my hair wet! Went to Horncastle - nice little town, it has 8 so called antique shops, the one we chose to visit had been burgled in the night so it was slightly chaotic. I bought a silver whale pendant and chain for £3.50, so I did well. We had a coffee in a pleasant café - very cheap! Prices for eating are on the whole a lot cheaper than at home. I went for a walk round on my own and came to a big house which belongs to the Wild Life Trust, Lincs. area. It had a walk, so I took myself and did it, across a field, by the river, round by a small pond and through an archway back to the house. It was a beautiful day, so it has been since we’ve been here! When we came back, the car arrived, stayed with us - she ‘attacked’ Bill again - don’t know why! He got the evening meal - I shall need a starvation diet after all this! The mother mallard came with her 13 chicks, and we threw them some bread, forgetting the cat was under the table! She made a move towards the ducks - the mother duck called them back then threatened the cat! She backed off! She also teaches them to mind the cars! If they stop for her, she gives the command and they cross the road! Lots of people have arrived now - makes life more interesting! Weather still fine and warm. Forgot we woke up to a Labour landslide 197 majority - thank all the powers, for a change of government.
