Rainy day, Bolingbroke Castle, EVERITT tomb!
It rained in the night, still rained again after about 11am and never stopped all day. We decided to go out anyway, so we went to find Bolingbroke Castle, it’s National Heritage, but just a very large ruin - but interesting all the same. We called in at the pub opposite, well almost opposite and had a sandwich etc. After that we went to Horncastle. Still raining. We went to look at the church and some children were sort of doing things! We found a tomb in the church an EVERITT! Bill was pleased as he didn’t think he’d ever find one! We saved the church from a nasty fire - a spotlight was hotting up and was setting fire to the cupboard with electrics inside! We stayed there a while, then found an antique shop to end all (junk) antique places. Loads of stuff all over the place! We spent a long time in there and I bought Paddy a Denby jug for her birthday. In the end we left for home - well, the campsite. We’d gone to Horncastle to fetch the picture I’d bought that we both liked. Bill bought an antique map in the Info Bureau, which is in the old church where the art exhibition was held. It is a Lincolnshire Map in inulation (?) parchment. Everyone round us have gone! And so to bed.
