Weather improved - but not campsite - sat and discussed where to go, well sort of! Came across the top of Tours and after stopping for lunch, ended up at Bourgueil because we couldn’t find a campsite anywhere else! Old site - usual style but not bad - there’s a new block, quite a walk but seems O.K. It’s a normal French 2-star. It has a lake in which one can swim - a children’s play area, a sandy beach, a bar, a tennis court and a mini-golf. When we left Cheverny, we got to the place, where we’d seen the tree on the car, and the lightning had struck about 8 trees and chopped them right off - even large ones were split and torn to matchsticks nearly! We’d only been about 100 yards away! The exhaust on the car has gone, but I found the garage about 100 yards up the road did ‘éppanages’ so it looks as if mini-golf and /or tennis is the order of the day. They do have nice tall trees on these old sites.
