Can’t remember much of Samedi, so proceed to Dimanche, left Monpazier - having said goodbye to Ray and entourage! Made for a camp site somewhere between Gramat and St.Céré, ended up in the Municipal site in St.Céré itself - a * * * site, lots of lovely trees, found a place, booked by someone else for Tuesday. Went for a walk in the town, parts of which are half-timbered - there’s a Place de L’Eglise which is pedestrianised, a fountain in the middle, and goldfish in the water - grills over parts keep the fish cool, and while we were there a man in overalls and two cats - came and fed the fish - we decided he must be the official fish feeder - hence the overalls! We saw a lot of trout in the river - canalised in 1611 by a Dutch engineer Van Der Douse. Nice little town - calls itself a city! Spoke to a French couple with a caravan opposite, who are ‘en retraite’. They are very ‘bronze’ and have spent May & June in Cannes, Nice and so on! Nice tennis courts here but I couldn’t persuade Bill to book one for us. Came via Villefranche-du-Perigard, Cazals, Gourdon, Gramat.
