Bill phoned Euro Assiste and the car came back within the hour. We quickly got ready and went to Chinon to take the garageur (?) back to Chinon, he’d got some vintage Citroens in the garage, which he said all worked. We parked the car opposite the Château - very pretty town and château site. Had a very good lunch next to the château, for 39.90f. Artichokes in vinaigret, steak lachés & frites (omelette pour mois), cheese - Rochefort no less! Almond tart (Bill - crême caramel) coffee & a beer! English spoken tour of the château - it was where Jeanne D’Arc met the Dauphin of France. She stayed there for 48 days. Weather beautiful - not too hot. Lovely views - but I hadn’t got my camera. Went and had coffee with our French amis and looked over their caravan - it’s very nice indeed. They live at Bourges near the Belgian border. I sprayed the tent well before going to bed, so had a good night’s sleep.
