La Fontaine d'Arlette
Got up early, went to Champion to get some food for P & F who were coming to lunch. It rained later on, but after lunch, which Bill made - whilst Pat, Fred & I went to the memorial to Robert & Arlette, also saw the old washing place - the vieux lavoir, where townspeople washed their clothes. Had lunch, P & F had supplied the wine, then we walked to the castle etc, the to the town, where there was an open market. It started to rain whilst we were sitting drinking coffee, then poured down, so Bill, as he’d got things for the rain, walked back to the site and fetched the car. We don’t know who won the ladies singles. We had tea and a natter, then P & F went back. It poured even more. We worked out a route for going tomorrow - if we go - and then had a meal. Rain stopped about 9pm which is when I’m stopping this! Rained all night.
