Surfing at St.Columban
Arose late. Went to the park and played badminton with Michael. Enjoyed that - first exercise I’ve had for ages. Except for the odd swim. Fred took Bill and I out to St.Columban pm (apres midi) so Bill could have a go at les planches et voile. He did and sort of drifted out, there being no wind! He did well, then Fred took me out, sitting on the back of the board - great fun, I was worried I’d have to swim back, but it was only at the end, when Fred tried to back into the wind that we came off! I did swim quite a way, but had the board to hold. Enjoyed it enormously! Bill is sold on having one now! We played cards with Maisie & Fred au soir - after taking the awning down and partly packing. Rosnual didn’t charge us for using the field.
