Exceedingly hot day - had lunch then went on a trip to the Brenne area where the étangs are - the monks dug there over the centuries - a lot are dried up at the moment. We cooled off in a church at Mézières-en-Brenne, went to Le Boucher and visited the château there - much climbing of towers and walks round the outside - then we did a quick tour of the château itself - seemed to consist of very old stuffed birds and one 6-months old wolf (when it was shot). Lovely views over the étangs. Went on to Rosnay, Méobeocq - had a drink there but couldn’t get in to see the Abbey. Got back had a meal, then played petanques with the French lads who spoke to us yesterday and a Frenchman who Bill says reminds him of Sammy Davis Jnr - bettter looking though. So our boules got bloodies in a real game!
