Expensive meal at Montignac near Lascaux Caves
Fine morning, a bit dull though. Started off about 10:30am and stopped at St. Hilaire les Places to go to the bank. Had a coffee in a bar tabac, run by a little old lady who had an enormous dog, who was fast asleep! Carried on up and down hills, round and round corners until we reached Sarlat, having stopped for lunch at Montignac, which is near the Lascaux Caves. Everything was shut, it was raining, but eventually we found a bar, Bill had mergeuse & chips and I had a salad, nothing exiting. Arrived at campsite eventually - it’s terraced, on a hill, all laid out of course with roads and marked emplacements - though not separated, weather o.k. Went out to eat, but restaurants more expensive and all they seem to offer is pate de foie gras, and then the cooked birds pies and unreadable. We travelled on a bit to Gourdon and found a place eventually - it took hours to get served and also between courses, was an eternity. Wasn’t bad, but nothing like the meal at Nexon! 3 courses though for 45.0F. Later on during our visit - we found the other parts, where restaurants abounded!
