Raining to start the day. Decided to look around, but not really much good at Aytré, beach at Minime (?) plage - not much. Went south to Rochefort, looked around for W.C., Office de Tourismé, walked miles for cafés - got back to place we parked - found a café there! Very good meal. Went to see the Naval Museum - Hotel de Cheusses - a very good display of ships, the art of making them, living in them, fighting in them, excellent in every way - lots of models in various stages showing the building of old sailing ships, all detailed. Took ages to see, but well worth the visit. It’s marvellous how most French loos can be pulled again & again - Bill says it’s because the water is connected directly to the mains! Loo paper holders are still in place, and usually paper is provided. When we arrived back at the site, the people next door (name Russeau), who live in Niort got talking with us, and we showed each other our respective caravans, and we ended up drinking their pineaud - forget the washing up, this was much better. We ‘chatted’! to them for an hour or more, then washed up, and so to bed. Woke up scratching - did a bit of spraying, finally dropped off again.
