Limoges and Ladignac-le-Long
Left Eguzon around 10:15, making our way to Limoges on the N20 - went a bit too far into Limoges, meeting up with trolley-buses, junctions and the like! Saw a sign for Nex on-Foxweel (?) it, arrived there - everyone seemed to be asleep, but having parked outside the Maine, found two restaurants. Went in the one which seemed more suitable for me, and for 35 francs got a 3-course meal, including a carafe of wine - tasted a bit like parish’s food (don’t know about the spelling!) We had a repas gastronomique! The people next to us had an enormous seafood paella, which they couldn’t finish - offered it to us, but we’d had enough. The man we spoke to had a school in St. Claire les places, which was for handicapped children - you meet all kinds of people, it never ceases to amaze one! Having got time, we decided to press on a bit further and stopped at a camping Municipal 2-star at Ladignac-le-Long, next to a lake, tour terraced, with separate emplacements it’s a permanent site, all mod con, ino. sitting on ‘bogs’ etc. Lovely wooded, hilly area. It’s rained time here, but hardly worth mentioning, I’m sitting outside writing this. It got dark eventually, but I took a photo beforehand - the ‘guardian’ said I’d need a very large photo to get him in it! He was a jolly little man, keeps the site very clean, and it was a pleasure to stay there. Can’t imagine, any site coming up to that standard at F180 francs complete!
