Flea market and Feu D'Artifice
Finally got day & date correct. Did some shopping, then spent hours looking round flea market at Eguzon, having followed us from St. Benoit. Went to sleep pm as walking round stalls was exhausting. It rained this morning, it’s cloudy now. We hope to see fireworks at the Municipal Stade this evening, starting at 22:00 UNREADABLE any luck! Decided to move tomorrow just south of Limoges before going on further on Thursday to the Dordogne. Heard music in the village - there were some men dressed in trad. costumes, & and old lady, spinning on a distaff. They were singing and playing accordion and an automatic (?) - he cranked it all the time - violin instrument. We then visited the exposition which had all old working tools in it, and there was a special ex. of photographs re the barrage at Eguzon on the Creuze which supplies electricity for the area. A man was there explaining it all, who was the son of one of the 2 civil engineers who did the work. Made our way to the Municipal Stade where the Feu D’Artifice was due to start at 22:00 hrs. It was quite a walk, and we waited quite a while before a light appeared across the stade and a series of rockets, set pieces etc went off with lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’, and a clap for everyone and the end! And so to bed.
