Was awoken early by the ‘bovers’ (?) & some noisy men, but got away from camp about 10.15 which seems to be normal for us. Stopped at St.Suzanne where there us a super castle & château, musée etc. They were getting ready for a Medieval joust etc on the 9th August. We had a very pleasant lunch in a spotless café, we had the plat du jour at 41 francs, + which we had 1/2 carafe of wine free! Liked the little town, said we’d visit the area again perhaps. Finally reached Falaise around 4 or thereabouts. Played tennis - well, tried! Weather had been wet, but it cleared up. We met an English couple who were touring with a Thompson Glen, they live in Herne Bay, so the next day had a couple of sessions of doubles with them, having spent most of the day talking to them. We’d visited Intermarché the previous afternoon, where I bought some biscuits to bring home. We struck camp at 7.30 and after our goodbyes to Charles, his wife, and a French lady and her son - we said ‘farewell’ to France and made our way to Ouistreham, where we parked the car & van, and went to the café we’d visited last year - had nioules - a bad move for Bill, as he coulnd’t sleep on the boat, there was a small mix-up with the cabine, but I went to bed after that, and slept very well really.
